BCRA > Information > Public Liability Insurance

BCRA's Public Liability Insurance scheme has been replaced by one offered by the British Caving Association. Information about the policy can be found on the BCA Membership Information pages.

BCRA's Previous Insurance Policy. Prior to November 2003, BCRA offered its members free public liability insurance up to £2m. This insurance is no longer part of BCRA's membership package, and cover under BCRA's policy ceased on Friday 7th November 2003. The previous policy will continue to provide cover for actions which have taken place up to the end of the cover period, in perpetuity. For example, we are aware that there has been some concern from cave diggers about liability they may have generated for themselves by opening caves which are now visited by other people. They should know that they will continue to be covered for any activities which took place before 7 November 2003. For details of the old policy please contact the BCA Insurance Manager.
