%N A tribute to the works of Peter Ashmead (1938–1977)
%X This book contains the facsimile reproduction of an unpublished manuscript by Peter Ashmead and Duncan Baldwin, which was written in the 1970s shortly before Ashmead's untimely death in 1977. Despite being written nearly a half century ago it remains the most complete overview of speleological research in the Morecambe Bay area, and is an indispensable starting point for future investigations. Also included in this book is a facsimile reproduction of a report on excavations in Kirkhead Cavern. The book includes a brief biography of Peter Ashmead, together with a bibliography and suggestions for further reading.

Readers please note: the biblography on page 137, taken from Ashmead's typed notes, only extends as far as Forrester. Clearly some pages were missing from his notes. The missing material is available as a download below. The print version we are currently selling does not include this update but, when we next need to print stock, we will incorporate the revised page 192, as it appears below.  %_ end # ===== ARTICLES SECTION %P 0 %T The Karst and Caves of Morecambe Bay %E Phillip Murphy %X Full text of book, excluding cover %8 Published online 1 July 2019 %_ end %P i %T Wraparound outside cover %X This is a full-bleed super-A3 file that can be used to make a single-sided wrap-round cover for a perfect-bound paperback. %8 Published online 1 July 2019 %_ end %P ii %T Front cover only %X This is medium-resolution JPG image of the front cover only, suitable for using in a review or posting on social media.
